About Alicia McClendon
A screenwriter, actor and filmmaker, Alicia champions female storytelling and diversity in film and television. Her brand is strong, flawed women and tends to write about trauma, loss, grief and perseverance.
From Indiana, some of her stories take place in Indianapolis to bring filmmaking there. Her love of writing came from her 2nd grade teacher assigning the class to writing a short story for homework, and because of her trauma, she used writing to heal and fell in love with it. It was Rodriguez’s and Tarantino’s From Dusk Til Dawn that got her into writing screenplays as a child, and she hasn’t stopped since.
Alicia is a martial artist and studies Wing Chun, Brazilian Jiujitsu, Kali, and JKD Kickboxing and takes an on camera scene study acting class.
